Miguel Ildefonso (Black Mountain)

He is a Peruvian poet and novelist, belonged to the poetic movement called Neón, and is the author of numerous books, including Vestigios (1999); Canciones de un bar en la frontera (2001); Las ciudades fantasmas (2002), which received the Copé literary prize for poetry; M.D.I.H (2004); Eautontimoroumenos and Los Desmoronamientos sinfónicos. He has also published a book of short stories, entitled El Paso (2005), which received the national short story prize of the Asociación Peruano-Japonesa. He was awarded several prizes for his poetry, including the Primer Premio Poesía Juegos Florales Universidad Católica (1995); Primer Premio Juegos Florales Poesía El Paso-Texas University (2001); Primer Premio Copé de Oro Poesía (2002); and Concurso de Cuento Alfredo Bryce Echenique (2003). His first novel was recently published: Hotel Lima (2008).

Mariela Dreyfus (New York University)

She is a Peruvian poet, essayist and translator, author of Memorias de Electra (1984); Placer fantasma (1993); Ónix (2001); and Pez (2005). Placer fantasma was awarded the National Poetry Award of the Asociación Peruano-Japonesa in 1992. Dreyfus's poetry is included in several anthologies of Peruvian and Latin American poetry. She has co-edited the critical volume Nadie sabe mis cosas. Reflexiones en torno a la poesía de Blanca Varela (2007), and is the author of a monographic volume, Soberanía y transgresión: César Moro (2008). She has translated several poets, including Allen Ginsberg, Edward Dorn, Sylvia Plath, and Diane Wakoski, as well as the volume Goddess of the Americas. Writings on the Virgin of Guadalupe (2000), collected by Ana Castillo.

Roger Santiváñez (Temple University)

He is the author of numerous poetry books, including Antes de la muerte (1979); Homenaje para iniciados (1984); El chico que se declaraba con la mirada (1988); Symbol (1991); Cor Cordium (1995); Santa María (2001); Eucaristía (2004); and Amásteis (2007). In 2006 he published a compilation of his published work, entitled Dolores Morales de Santiváñez. He is also the author of several poetic prose titles: Santísima Trinidad (1997); Historia Francorum (2000); and El corazón zanahoria (2002 and 2006). Founder of the movement called Kloaka, his work is also included in the collective volumes La última cena, poesía peruana actual (1987); Poesía Peruana Siglo XX (1999); and La mitad del cuerpo, antología de la poesía peruana (2005).

Hola, soy estadounidense pero absoluta fan de la cultura latina (mis padres son colombianos y vinieron a trabajar en el hotel crown plaza times square hace 29 años) y lei mucha poesía peruana y me parece completamente conmovedora y me gustaría que la pudieran difundir con más fuerza para mostrarle al mundo la belleza que hay en el alma latina.
